Herbal? Do you mean Cannabis Massage?

Yes Cannabis Massage!

It has been documented time and time again that, like most plants, Cannabis has properties that may benefit you. Of these many properties the most beneficial for Botanic Bodywork as a Massage Clinic is the ability to add relaxation and decrease muscle spasms unlike any pain cream Amanda has ever used in her many years trying pain creams simply by adding CBD from hemp to her products.

The Science

Everyone of us has a endocannabinoid system within our bodies just like we have a lymphatic system. This very complex system helps regulate many of the body's processes with it's main goal being Homeostasis, balance.

Introducing CBD to your system has a host of benefits including relieving pain, spasms, and anxiety all while protecting your nervous system.

When this molecule is used alone you get great benefits but when it's added to molecules of the full Cannabis plant you get an Entourage Effect that would be equal to having all of the Avengers fighting for you instead of just Iron Man.

Although I'm sure people have been using topicals for centuries the studies for cannabis have focused on smoking or ingesting. This makes me and a few other massage therapists on the front lines of finding out all the wonderful things this plant can do when adsorbed by your skin via a massage.

The skin possesses CB1 and CB2 receptors in a number of cells. This makes it a good method for application. Especially if you are curious about the benefits but concerned about the high associated with THC.

Find out more about CBD and how if affects the body by watching this podcast I had the joy of doing an interview with CBD Talk Podcast. I had 15 minutes to prepare since I only got the spot when the planned guest had a scheduling mishap. She was asking wonderful questions I was not prepared for. So let me explain one my most confusing answers because I have the tendency to stumble over my words.

Our endocannabinoid system has been a part of our bodies for hundreds, if not thousands, of generations. This body system has been found in many other mammals, and birds. But it was discovered as recently as the 1980s so it is a new body system that we still are learning so much about. We are just waiting for the biology books to catch up. It's like we are living in a time that didn't know what muscles were, give it a few decades and the Endocannabinoid system will be just as common knowledge. Yay science!

I look forward to talking with Dawn with CBD Talk Podcast again in a few months but for now enjoy this video of us geeking out over Cannabis.

Will I get high?

Short answer, no.

Long answer, you may notice a deeper sense of relaxation that will increase the Massage Drunk effect that happens after most massages you'll find at Botanic Bodywork.

Will I fail a drug test?

To date no one who has had a cannabis massage has failed a drug test. And as of now there is no standard test for levels of CBD. It was just approved as a substance for Olympians so there is no way you should be concerned for CBD only. I'm hopeful that we are going the right way of legalizing cannabis across the board but we aren't there yet.

The Botanic Bodywork Difference

Amanda really wants people to get the best service which starts with the product used so she makes the massage oil. Which is now available for clients and other Massage Therapists to take home.

"Making the cannabis oil has been a joy and I'm so excited at the results my clients are getting. I focus on using herbs and essential oils that have terpenes high in pain relief and relaxation." - Amanda James

CBD Only are options for clients receiving a Pain Relief session. However to keep to Colorado laws the full plant extract is only available during an in home session and is always gifted, never sold

Amanda takes into account whether you regularly ingest cannabis and makes the strength of your massage oil accordingly, since those used to cannabis may require more to get the relief a non user will.

The carrier oils are also picked for their benefits and simplicity. A proprietary blend of Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Vitamin E, Bees Wax, and Essential Oils. Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter are also added to some products for deep skin moisturizing so please let us know of any allergy.

This blend will leave you feeling relaxed and soft even if you don't choose to include CBD in your massage session.
